University Park, Pa. - The first day of the Big Ten Women's Golf Tournament consisted of two back-to-back rounds on the Penn State Blue Course. While Michigan State was in first place after round one, Purdue shot even par in the second round to pull ahead to the lead. Purdue has a two-round score of ten-over 586, while Michigan State trails by nine. Ohio State is close behind with a score of 600. Individually, Christel Boeljon of Purdue is currently is first place with an impressive score of one-under 143. Boeljon's teammate, Maria Hernandez, and Ohio State's Emma Jandel are tied for second place going into the third round with scores of two-over 146. Freshman Victoria Arena leads the Nittany Lions with a score of six-over 150. Senior Christin Pacacha is only one stroke behind Arena. The Nittany Lions are currently tied with Northwestern for seventh place. The third round of the Big Ten Women's Golf Tournament will begin at 8 a.m. tomorrow.
