Hannah, Trammell Selected in Pro Volleyball Federation Draft

Hannah was picked by the Vegas Thrill, while Trammell was selected by the Indy Ignite

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Three Penn State players were selected in the 2024 Pro Volleyball Federation Draft on Monday. Camryn Hannah was a first-round pick as she was selected fourth overall by the Vegas Thrill, while Taylor Trammell was a third-round pick by the Indy Ignite. Jess Mruzik, who was projected as a top pick but removed her name from consideration to focus on joining League One Volleyball, was the final pick by her home-state team, the Grand Rapids Rise.

Hannah, a one-time AVCA honorable-mention All-American, two-time second-team All-ACC honoree, and one-time All-Big Ten recipient was the third outside hitter taken in the draft. She joins a pair of former Penn State All-Americans on the Thrill roster as she teams up with setter Alisha Glass Childress and libero Kendall White. Hannah has more than 1,600 kills in her career, including 363 this season.

Trammell, who has proven this season to be a dual-threat with her offensive and defensive prowess was the fourth pick of the third round by the Ignite, who are set to begin their first season in the PVF. The middle blocker has always been a threat defensively, as evident by her 557 career blocks. This season, she has shown off her offense as she ranks second in the nation with a .446 hitting percentage and has already reached a career-high of 208 kills with two regular season matches and postseason play remaining on the schedule.

Penn State was one of four schools to have three players selected in the PVF Draft. The Big Ten led all conferences with 16 picks.

The second season of the PVF begins in January. The Vegas Thrill open at home against the Grand Rapids Rise on Jan. 10, while the Indy Ignite open at home against the Orlando Valkyries on Jan. 11.
