PORTSMOUTH, Va. – Penn State men’s basketball graduate student Ace Baldwin Jr. will compete in the Portsmouth Invitational Tournament from April 16-19. The P.I.T. has been showcasing the talents of top senior college basketball players to professional scouts since 1953.
The 71st P.I.T. will be contested April 16-19 with eight teams of eight players playing 12 games in four days at Churchland High School in Portsmouth, Va.
Baldwin Jr. wrapped up his outstanding collegiate career as the only active Division I player and one of just five Division I players since the 1947-48 season (77 years) with 1,700+ career points (1,716), 800+ career assists (831) and 300+ career steals (342).
He was named the Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year for the second-straight year following the 2024-25 season. He became just the sixth Big Ten player to earn Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year honors in two-straight years, and the first player from Penn State to earn the award in back-to-back years.
Baldwin Jr. wrapped up the 2024-25 season as Division I’s active career leader in steals (342) and his 831 career assists rank third amongst active Division I players. His 342 career steals are tied for 15th most all-time by an NCAA Division I player.
The Baltimore, Md. native finished his standout collegiate career as a two-time Big Ten Defensive Player of the Year (2024, 2025), two-time All-Big Ten selection (2024, 2025), three-time NABC All-District selection (2023, 2024, 2025), 2023 Atlantic 10 Player of the Year, 2023 Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Year, and a two-time All-Atlantic 10 pick (2022, 2023).
