UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- The Penn State men’s tennis team concluded its season on Sunday, droppeing a 4-1 decision against No. 66 Indiana.
Seniors Sam Bossem and Charl Morgan were recognized for their collegiate careers during the Senior Day ceremony, presented by the Penn State Alumni Association.
Penn State finished the season with 12 wins.
DOUBLES
Morgan and Marcus Schoeman paired up on Court 2, but fell 6-1 to Matteo Antonescu and Michael Andre. At the third spot, Shri Murugesan and Reiya Hattori dropped their match to Braeden Gelletich and Ben Pomeranets, 6-0.
On the first court, Loren Byers and Bossem were trailing 4-2 against Jip Van Assendelft and Sam Scherer when the match went unfinished as the doubles point had already been claimed by Indiana.
SINGLES
At the top spot, No. 53 Byers took down Thomas Deacon, 6-3, 6-4, for his 13th win of the Spring.
On Court 2, Morgan fell 6-3, 3-6, 6-3 to van Assendeflt in a tough played match. Bossem took the third spot but dropped a strong match to Pomeranets 7-6(4), 7-5. On Court 5, Hattori fell to Gelletich, 6-3, 6-4.
At fourth singles, Schoeman was tied up with Andre 6-7 (6), 6-2. Murugesan played on the sixth court and was tied 3-6, 7-5 with Karan Raghavendra. Both matches went unfinished as the match had been clinched by Indiana.
