UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Penn State men’s lacrosse’s Matt Traynor and Kevin Parnham are drafted in the 2025 Premeir Lacrosse League Draft. Traynor is the sixth overall pick in and is selected by the New York Atlas, marking the first, first-round draft pick out of Penn State since Mac O’Keefe was selected sixth in the 2021 PLL Draft to the Carolina Chaos. Parnham is drafted in the fourth round by the Denver Outlaws.
The Nittany Lions due become the 20th and 21st Penn State players in program history to be drafted by the PLL or MLL drafts. Traynor and Parnham follow behind TJ Malone, the 17th pick in the 2024 PLL Draft, marking the first time a Penn State player has been drafted in the PLL in back-to-back years since Grant Ament and Mac O’Keefe went in 2020 and 2021 consecutively.
Traynor has had an impressive college campaign, achieving several career milestones and inking his name in the Penn State record book. This season, he surpassed 100 career points and 100 career goals, becoming one of only 10 PSU athletes in program history to notch 100 goals throughout their career. Traynor currently ranks fifth all-time in career goals with 111. The Downingtown, Pa. native was named the 2025 Big Ten Offensive Player of the Year and earned a spot on the first team All-Big Ten squad. Throughout his career, Traynor has collected three Big Ten Offensive Player of the Week awards and two USILA National Team of the Week nods. He is a Top 25 Nominee for the 2025 Tewaaraton Award, set to be announced later this spring.
Parnham has been a crucial part of the Penn State defense over the last four seasons, starting in every game throughout his freshman year upon his arrival. The senior captain has totaled 101 ground balls and 48 caused turnovers throughout his collegiate career. Parnham has made an impact in transition for the Nittany Lions this year, adding his first career assists, totaling three on the season. He has consistently ranked at the top of the Big Ten in caused turnovers per game, a consistent offense distruptor for PSU.
