Jamelle Cornley Season 2007-08

#2
PositionFHeight6-5Weight240 lbsClassJuniorHometownColumbus, OhioHigh SchoolBrookhaven

A two-time team co-MVP and All-Big Ten honoree, Jamelle Cornley[apos]s value as a physical and emotional catalyst for the Nittany Lions is unmistakable. He has played in all but six games (85) since he stepped on campus, missing those six last season as he suffered a deep bone bruise in his left knee that eventually required arthroscopic surgery on March 10 of last year. The injury, suffered in the pre-season, severely limited his ability in the first seven games of last season (he missed three) and caused him to miss the last three games of the year. He still averaged 12.3 ppg and 6.1 rpg, became Penn State[apos]s 28th 1,000-point scorer, and earned third-team All-Big Ten honors. In his senior campaign, he is the Lions[apos] top returning scorer and rebounder and an unquestioned squad leader. He is 100 percent recovered from the knee injury and will look to end his career among Penn State[apos]s top 10 all-time scorers and rebounders with his relentless play and out-going personality.
