2006-07: Josh consistently finished second in meets among Penn State divers behind Mike Alderman. He did well enough at Big Ten[apos]s to score points for the Nittany Lions on the one-meter board as he finished 14th. He also finished just a few spots out of the scoring on the three-meter board. He set his career high score on the one-meter board and his second-best career score on the three-meter during the year. He also just narrowly missed qualifying for the NCAA Zone meet as his best score of 293.68 on the one-meter was less than seven points off the qualifying score. On the year, he had four second place finishes, finishing behind Alderman each time, and one third place.
Meet-by-Meet Highlights: Took second place on both the one and three-meter board in the season-opening meet vs. West Virginia, scoring his season-best on the three-meter....Finished fourth on the one-meter and seventh on the three-meter at the Clemson/Virginia/Virginia Tech/Penn State quad-meet....Placed second in the one-meter with his best score of the year and also finished third in the three-meter in the dual meet vs. West Chester....Finished 15th in the prelims of both springboards at the Georgia Diving Invite....Came in second on the one-meter and fourth on the three-meter in the dual meet vs. Rutgers....Placed seventh in the one-meter and 11th in the three-meter at the Shamrock Invitational....Picked up points for Penn State with a 14th place finish on the one-meter board and also finished 20th on the three-meter at Big Ten Championships.
2005-06: Josh spent most of his freshman season behind veteran divers Mike Alderman and Adam Pierce, but still saw enough action to get quite a bit of valuable experience in his inaugural campaign. He will be counted on to take on a bigger role this year.
Meet-by-Meet Highlights: Placed sixth in the one-meter and gained points for Penn State with a fourth place finish in the three-meter in the dual meet vs. Ohio State. His three-meter score vs. OSU was his career best....Finished 10th in the three and one-meter events at the Shamrock Invitational, compiling his career best score in the one-meter at that competition....Picked up points for the Nittany Lions with a third place finish in the one-meter at the dual meet with St. Bonaventure....Placed sixth in both the one and three-meter events at the dual meet vs. Florida....Picked up points for Penn State in the one-meter (16th place) at the Ohio State Invitational....Gained points for the Nittany Lions with a third place finish in the one-meter at the dual meet vs. West Chester....Placed eighth in the one-meter and ninth in the three-meter at the Auburn/Purdue/Virginia/Penn State quad meet....Placed third in both the one and three-meter events to pick up points in both events in his first collegiate meet, the dual meet vs. West Virginia.
High School: Josh earned three varsity letters at North Penn High School in Lansdale, Pa. As a freshman, he was named the most valuable freshman. His team won state championships as both a sophomore and junior and finished second his freshman and senior seasons. Individually, he placed fourth in the state as a sophomore, second as a junior, and third as a senior. He was a two-time second team All-State selection, a one-time first team All-State pick, and a one-time first team All-American. His team compiled a 64-3 dual meet record in his four years with the team. He was also the recipient of a business achiever award.
Personal: Josh was born on June 22, 1987 in Hatfield, Pa. The son of Walter and Patricia Myers, he also has an older brother, Tim, who played collegiate baseball at York College. Josh is majoring in information sciences and technology at Penn State and would like have a career in government.
