Summer 2008: Tim competed in the U.S. Olympic Trials and placed Top 30 in the nation in the 200 butterfly.
2007-08: Tim is returning to the Nittany Lions after breaking his own recod in the 200 butterfly and working his way into the Top 10 in the 100 butterfly last sesaon. In the 100 fly, he collected first place finishes against West Virginia and at the Princeton Invitational. In the 200 he claimed first place in all but three races. At the Big Ten championships in February, Tim earned points in bith butterfly distances as well as the 200 and 400 medley relays.
Meet-by-Meet Highlights: Placed third in the 200 breaststroke against West Chester and in Florida...Finished first in the 100 butterfly against West Virginia and at the Princeton Invitational...First place in the 200 butterfly against Michigan State, Virginia, West Virginia and Pitt/Md./Mizzou/Nova as well as at the Princeton Invitational and the Hoosierland Open Invitational...Placed second in th 200 IM at the Princeton invitational...In relays he was on the winning 400 medley team against Michigan State and Virginia as well as the Princeton Invitational.
Summer 2007: Swam in the 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly at U.S. Nationals....Finished 25th in the 200 fly.
2006-07: Tim had an outstanding year as he rebounded from missing the postseason as a freshman with an illness. Tim swam an NCAA `B[apos] time in the 200 butterfly and as part of the 400 medley relay team that set a new school record. He swam in both of those events at NCAAs, with the 20th place finish by the 400 medley team being his best. He picked up points at Big Ten[apos]s in both butterfly events and as part of the 400 medley relay team. He owned the top times on the team in both butterfly events and the second best times on the team in both IM events. Tim was named Big Ten Swimmer of the Week once on the year and was also named the collegeswimming.com National Swimmer of the Week the same week as well. He finished the year with five first place finishes, four in individual events, including one at the prestigious Bell Grand Prix meet. He also had seven second place finishes, including four in individual events, and three third places.
Meet-by-Meet Highlights: Opened the year with a second place finish in the 200 fly, a fifth place finish in the 200 IM and a fourth place finish as part of the 400 free relay team in the dual meet at West Virginia....Came in fifth in the 200 fly, second in the 400 IM, fourth in the 200 IM and was on the fourth place 200 medley relay team and the seventh place 400 medley relay team at the Clemson/Virginia/Virginia Tech/Penn State quad-meet....Took second in the 200 fly, sixth in the 200 IM, seventh in the 400 IM and was on the third place 200 medley relay team and the second place 400 medley relay team at the Purdue Duals....Won the 200 fly at the Bell Grand Prix, the only Nittany Lion (male or female) to finish first at that meet, and also picked up points for Penn State in the 100 fly (6th place), 400 IM (9th place) and as part of the 800 free relay team (8th place) and 400 medley relay team (3rd place) at the BGP....Won the 100 fly and was on the first place 200 medley relay team in the dual meet vs. West Chester....Finished third in the 100 breaststroke, won the 100 fly and was on the second place 200 medley relay team in the dual meet vs. Rutgers....Placed second in the 200 fly, fourth in the 200 IM, seventh in the 400 IM and was on the 400 medley relay team that placed second and the 200 medley relay team that finished fifth at the Shamrock Invitational....Picked up points in the 100 fly (15th place), 200 fly (6th place) and on the 400 medley relay team (5th place) at Big Ten Championships.
2005-06: Tim swam the butterfly events and the individual medley events as a freshman, with his two primary events being the 100 butterfly and the 200 IM. He won three individual events on the year, two 200 butterfly[apos]s and one 200 IM, and was a part of one first place relay team.
Meet-by-Meet Highlights: Won the 200 fly, finished 12th in the 100 fly, 15th in the 200 IM and swam on the sixth place 200 and 400 medley relay teams at the Shamrock Invitational....Finished sixth in the 200 breaststroke at the dual meet vs. Rutgers....Placed second in the 100 fly, and was a part of the second place 200 medley relay team at the dual meet vs. St. Bonaventure....Won the 200 fly by swimming his fastest time of the year in that event and also picked up a point with a sixth place finish in the 200 breast and also placed fourth in the 200 IM in the dual meet at Florida....Picked up points for Penn State as a member of the 10th place 400 medley relay team, the 13th place 800 free relay team, and with a fifth place finish in the 200 fly and a 13th place finish in the 400 IM, swimming his best time of the year in that event at the Ohio State Invitational....Finished third in the 1000 free at the dual meet vs. West Chester, the only time he swam that event during the year....Placed seventh in the 400 IM at the Auburn/Purdue/Virginia/Penn State quad meet...Won the 200 IM and was a part of the first place 400 medley relay team at the dual meet vs. LaSalle....On the third place 400 medley relay team and placed second in the 200 fly at his first collegiate meet, the dual meet vs. West Virginia.
High School: Was a four-year letterwinner and a team captain as a senior at Elder High School in Cincinnati. He set school records in the 200 IM, 100 butterfly, and 100 breaststroke. He was an All-American in the 200 IM his sophomore through senior years and an All-American in the 100 fly his junior and senior years. He finished second in two events at states and won four events at the Coaches[apos] Classic, one of a select few to ever accomplish that feat.
Personal: Tim was born on June 26, 1987 in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is the son of Rodger and Barbara Williams. He was an older brother, Joe, a younger brother, Nathan, and a younger sister, Liz. He is majoring in landscape architecture at Penn State with intentions of becoming an architect. He lists music, movies, and art as hobbies.
