2007-08 Season (Freshman): Went 22-14 on the season, including 12-10 in duals...Finished the spring season 15-8 in doubles teaming up primarily with Adam Slagter and James Dwyer...Kicked off a solid freshman campaign by winning his first three match-ups in the fall...Defeated Andrew Brasseaux of Wake Forest (6-4, 6-4) and George Carpeni of Princeton (6-3, 6-3) to advance to the white flight final of the University of Virginia Fall Classic...Lost a tough match to teammate Brendan Lynch in the final of that event (4-6, 2-6)...Went on to win five consecutive matches...Contributed mightily to helping the Nittany Lions win the ECAC Championships with wins over Curtis Roby of Dartmouth (6-0, 6-2), Alexander Ermakov of Harvard (6-2, 1-6, 6-2) and Ryan Kim of Princeton (6-2, 1-6, 6-3)...Advanced to the round of 16 at the ITA Northeast Regional Championships by defeating Ivan Rummel of Stony Brook (3-6, 6-2, 6-3) and Ira Reibeisen of Bucknell (6-1, 6-2)...Downed Griff Nienberg of Purdue (6-3, 3-6, 1-0 (10-8)) and Christian Bierich of Iowa (3-6, 6-3, 1-0 (10-8)) at the Big Ten Indoor Championships...Posted a 10-4 fall singles record...Finished 5-2 in fall doubles action teaming up with James Dwyer...After a tough start to the spring season, he came out with a critical victory over Joshua Goldstein of Cornell (7-6 (7-3), 6-3)...Cranked out three straight victories over three worthy opponents in Alexander Thams of No. 68 Northwestern (6-4, 3-6, 7-5), Daniel Buikema of No. 21 Alabama (6-4, 2-6, 6-4) and Pitor Dilaj of No. 35 Boise State (6-3, 2-6, 6-1)...Later in the season, strung together seven consecutive victories, most of which were over Big Ten foes...Defeated Tommy McGeorge of No. 46 Iowa (6-4, 6-1)...Earned another critical victory over Marc Spicijaric of No. 17 Illinois (6-4, 6-3)...Ended the spring season on a positive note by pounding out a victory over Adam Monich of No. 73 Michigan State (6-7 (6-8), 6-4, 1-0 (10-7))...Bourchier and Slagter earned a nice victory over Brett Helgeson and Sheeva Parbhu of No. 9 Notre Dame (8-5)...ITA Northeast Region Rookie of the Year.
Junior Career: Ranked as high as No. 1 in juniors in Tasmania in under 16s and 18s...Ranked as high as No. 50 nationally in the Open Men[apos]s classification in Australia...Ranked No. 102 in the world for ITF juniors...Played in the Australian Open juniors in 2006 and won first round match against Shuhei Uzawa of Japan, who was ranked 39th in the world at the time.
