Penn State Career
2006-07 Season - Junior:
Began the fall of his junior season with a pair of wins at the Penn State Fall Classic...At the Big Ten Individual Championships, Dwyer advanced into the main draw of the tournament with a win over Mike DePietro (6-4, 7-6)...Eventually dropped his first match in the Round of 64 in the main draw...Concluded the fall season with a 3-3 record in singles action...Won his first two matches at the No. 5 spot against Colgate and Lehigh in Penn State[apos]s opening day of play...Dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision to Cornell[apos]s Jonathan Fife in Penn State[apos]s 6-1 win over the Big Red...After the loss against Cornell, Dwyer went on to win his next four matches, including three consecutive straight-set decisions in the Nittany Lions[apos] wins over St. Bonaventure (7-0), Bloomsburg (6-1) and St. John[apos]s (6-1)...The streak was capped off by a match-clinching victory over Northwestern[apos]s Alex Sanborn (6-2, 5-7, 6-4) in Penn State[apos]s 4-3 triumph at No. 38 Northwestern on Feb. 16...His win at Northwestern boosted the Lions[apos] season mark to 7-0...His winning streak was snapped two days later in Penn State[apos]s first dual loss of the season at No. 50 Wisconsin (4-3)...Chalked up a nine-match winning streak over the course of a little over a month at the No. 5 and 6 spot...Dwyer notched a second match-clinching win over Michigan[apos]s Scott Bruckman (6-2, 3-6, 7-6) in Penn State[apos]s 4-3 upset win over No. 21 Michigan...Dwyer also posted a straight-set win over Minnesota[apos]s Dino Blankov (6-1, 6-4) on April 1 in Penn State[apos]s 5-2 win at No. 29 Minnesota, which allowed the Nittany Lions to move to 14-2 on the season...In all, Dwyer went 14-3 in dual matches during his junior season...Posted a 17-6 overall singles record and went 4-2 in the Big Ten...In doubles action, Dwyer notched an 11-7 overall mark...Paired with Adam Slagter late in the season...The duo handed the 16th-ranked Ohio State team of Devin Mullings and Chris Klingemann an 8-5 defeat...He and Slagter closed out the season with an 8-6 loss to Pepperdine[apos]s Andre Begemann and Mahmoud Kamel in Penn State[apos]s 4-1 loss to the defending national champion Waves in the first round of the NCAA Tournament...Named to the Academic All-Big Ten list for the second consecutive year.
2005-06 Season - Sophomore:
Compiled an overall singles record of 6-2, including a 1-0 dual match record throughout the fall campaign...Won his first six matches of the fall season including two straight set victories at the Army Invitational, playing at the No. 5 and 6 spots of the Nittany Lion lineup...Was one of seven Lions to compete at the Big Ten Individual Indoor Championships to end fall competition...Was victorious in Penn State[apos]s opening spring match, picking up a 6-0, 6-0 win at No. 5 singles en route to a 7-0 Nittany Lion shutout victory over Bloomsburg...Recorded another two-set win vs. Lafayette at the No. 5 spot to help Penn State to its fifth-straight win...Finished his sophomore campaign with an overall singles mark of 11-2, going 6-0 in dual matches...Was named to the Dean[apos]s List...Received Academic All-Big Ten honors.
2004-05 Season - Freshman:
Posted a 27-11 overall mark including a 16-5 record at No. 6 singles...Also went 4-1 at No. 5 and 1-0 at No. 4...Tied with five other Lions for the lead in wins with 27.
Junior Career:
Started as a freshman and sophomore at Peachtree City and was undefeated both seasons...Advanced to the Georgia State semifinals in each of his first two years...Went 22-0 as a freshman before falling in the semifinals...Was 24-0 the next season, again advancing to the semifinals...Did an independent study at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln[apos]s Independent High School, focusing on academics and tennis...Was a multiple-time honor roll student during his high school years.
