Stakhovsky was ranked in the ITA Poll 13 straight weeks to finish the year. He reached as high as #33... Stakhovsky combined with Russell Bader to go 18-6 in doubles with five wins against ranked opponents and an 8-2 record against the Big Ten. They were ranked for nine straight weeks to finish the year. They reached as high as 26th in the ITA Poll... In his NCAA Singles Championship First Round match, Stakhovsky dropped a 6-2, 6-2 result to Vanderbilt's Gonzales Austin, ranked 21st in the nation... Did not see any action in the fall.
Before Penn State: Stakhovsky comes to Penn State after transferring from Oklahoma, where he went 10-10 in singles and 6-5 in doubles last year. The Kiev, Ukraine native boasts a career-high ATP 840 in singles and 814 in doubles. He reached as high as 67 in the ITF Junior Rankings, with multiple wins over Top 20 Juniors. Stakhovsky trained at Gymnazium Jiriho Wolkera. Leonard's brother, Sergiy, has a career-high ATP ranking of 31 in singles and 33 in doubles, including a win over Roger Federer at the 2013 Wimbledon Championships.
