2019 (Redshirt Senior): Named an All-EIVA Second Team performer...Finished second on the team with 259 kills while hitting .254…Played in 28 matches with 93 total sets…Third on the team with 99 digs and 23 service aces…Posted double-digit kills in 16 matches, including five-straight matches 3/15-29…Set season high with 18 kills while hitting .500 in a four-set win at Harvard (3/29)…Had 17 kills, seven digs, and two aces in the EIVA championship at Princeton (4/20).
 
2018 (Redshirt Junior): Named First Team All EIVA...Led the Nittany Lions with 256 kills...Only Penn State player to appear in all 26 matches...Had a .291 attached percentage...Second on the team with 135 digs and 36 service aces...Set a career-high with 22 kills 3/3 vs. Princeton...Had 12 digs 4/19 vs. Harvard...Recorded double-digit kills in 13 of 26 matches.

2017 (Redshirt Sophomore): Had three kills against No.2 UCLA (1/6)... Played 42 sets this season... Finished the season with 18 kills, five assists and nine digs.
 
2016 (Redshirt Freshman): Played in 36 of 108 sets during the 2016 season... Recorded a career high 26 kills, six service aces, 18 digs and four total blocks... hit .250 for the season.

2015 (Freshman): Redshirt season.

HIGH SCHOOL
Led his high school team, Cherokee Trail, to a state title in 2014 ... Picked up 5A Colorado All-State honors during junior and senior season ... Played with Front Range Volleyball Club.

PERSONAL
Born Matthew John McLaren March 24, 1996 in Centennial, Colo. ... Parents are Greta and Scott McLaren ... Has two sisters, Haley and Winter.
