Women?' Gymnastics Headed to Nebraska for NCAA Regionals

STATE COLLEGE, Pa., March 27, 2001 - The No. 10 Penn State women??s gymnastics will be headed to Lincoln, Neb., as it is slated to compete in the NCAA South Central Regional hosted by the University of Nebraska on Sat., April 7 at 7:00 p.m. (CST).

Joining the Nittany Lions in Lincoln will be host-school No. 3 Nebraska, No. 15 Washington, No. 19 Oklahoma, No. 23 Arizona and No. 25 Illinois State.

The South Central Regional is the only of the six regional sites that will feature six nationally-ranked top 25 teams.

Penn State will enter the regional as the No .2 seed. The Cornhuskers drew the No. 1 slot, while Washington (No. 3), Oklahoma (No. 4), Arizona (No. 5) and Illinois State (No. 6) round out the field.

The top two teams from each of the six regional sites will qualify for the 2001 NCAA Championships on April 19-21 in Athens, Ga.
