About the Arena

The Pegula Ice Arena is a premier ice facility for the community as well as home to Penn State's men's and women's ice hockey teams. The facility was brought to fruition by an initial $88 million donation - the largest in University history - from Terry and Kim Pegula, who, through their gift, helped Penn State realize its goal of Division I hockey. At the ceremonial groundbreaking on April 20, 2012, the Pegulas added $14 million to the project to lift the total donation to $102 million.

The state-of-the-art amenities have allowed Pegula Ice Arena to host national ice shows, National Hockey League pre-season games, and the 2022 NCAA Women's Hockey Frozen Four, with another Frozen Four coming in 2026.

Today the Pegula Ice Arena is open 350 days a year with millions of visitors through the building each year. From lessons, to youth tournaments, public skating sessions and college hockey games, there's always something going on at Pegula Ice Arena!
