Derek was a third team All-American as a junior, a first team All-Big Ten selection, an Academic All-Big Ten honoree, and a CoSIDA Academic All-District selection.
He was named Big Ten Player of the Week (9/19) and SoccerTimes.com National Player of the Week (9/24). He was named the UNH Soccer Classic MVP and All-Tourney Team, the Penn State Nike Classic MVP and All-Tournament Team, and the Ohio State Nike Classic MVP and All-Tournament Team.
He was the leading scorer for Penn State and second in Big Ten with 32 points. He had 13 goals and six assists, both team highs. He tallied seven game winning goals, including two in Big Ten Tournament. He notched first career hat trick with three goals in 3-0 win over Cornell and had two goals in 4-0 win over Villanova.

Emerging as one of the best players in the Big Ten, Rebecca Ho posted a 25-13 record at No. 2 singles last season and was named a first team All-Big Ten selection. She was 9-1 in Big Ten play as well and amassed a superb 18-5 dual match record. Teaming with fellow All-Big Ten pick Pilar Montgomery, Ho posted a 24-11 mark at No. 1 doubles, including a 15-7 dual match mark and a 5-5 mark in Big Ten action.
Ho posted an impressive 18-17 mark at No. 2 singles last season, including an 8-10 dual match mark. She went 28-9 in doubles action, showcasing her outstanding doubles skills. She teamed with Martina Kopacova to post a sizzling 21-9 mark at No. 2 doubles, including a 14-4 dual mark and a team-best 7-3 mark in Big Ten play.
Ho slid right into the No. 1 position in singles as a Lady Lion true freshman, carrying a 15-19 overall record. Also taking great strides with Kopacova on the doubles court, she posted a 23-14 mark as a freshman.
