- Penn State Coach Joe Paterno recorded his 324th career victory, breaking the record for most career wins by an NCAA Division I-A coach. Paterno's mark is 324-94-3 in his 36th season. He breaks the record formerly held by Paul "Bear" Bryant, who earned a 323-85-17 (78.0) record over 38 years (1945-82)
- Penn State's comeback today from an 18-point deficit (27-9) marked the largest comeback by a Nittany Lion team since the 1994 Lions rallied from a 21-0 deficit at Illinois to win 35-31.

- Zack Mills's 69-yard touchdown run in the 3rd quarter was the longest run from scrimmage by a - Penn State player since Chafie Fields had a 70-yard scamper for a touchdown against Arizona in 1999. In addition, the 69-yard dash was the longest run by a PSU quarterback since John Sacca's 75-yard touchdown run against Cincinnati in 1991.

- Ohio State's Michael Jenkins's 68-yard reception in the second quarter was the longest reception allowed by Penn State since D'Wayne Bates had an 81-yard reception for Northwestern against the Lions in 1998.
- Ohio State's Jonathan Wells's 65-yard touchdown run in the third quarter was the longest run allowed by the Nittany Lions since Michigan's Tyrone Wheatley had a 67 yard scamper for a touchdown in 1994.
