University Park, Pa., Jan. 30, 2006 ?C The Penn State men??s basketball team (10-8; 2-5 Big Ten) returns home Wednesday after nearly upsetting No. 11 Michigan State Saturday in East Lansing. The Nittany Lions face their fourth straight ranked opponent in No. 20 Michigan (15-3; 5-2 Big Ten). The Wolverines are co-leaders in the Big Ten race and are riding a four-game win streak that includes victories over No. 23 Wisconsin and No. 11 Michigan State in their last two games.
The first 1,000 fans to arrive at the Bryce Jordan Center for the game will receive a Nittany Lion Basketball beach towel. Registered members of the Nittwits student section can bring as many friends as they like for $1 per person.
Sophomore Geary Claxton posted his fifth double-double of the season with 19 points and a career-high tying 13 rebounds at Michigan State. He and the Nittany Lions are in the midst of an unprecedented stretch of five straight ranked opponents, the most in succession in 110 years of Nittany Lion basketball.
