Fayetteville, Ark. March 11, 2006 - Sophomore Shana Cox (Westbury, N.Y.) captured her third All-American honor today at the NCAA Championships. Cox finished seventh in the 400-meter dash with a time of 52.76.
This is Cox??s third All-American honor of her career. As a freshman, she collected All-American honors in the 400 meter dash at the Indoor and Outdoor Championships last season. Cox holds Penn State records in the 300, 400, 500 meter dashes and 4x400 meter relay.
Cox was also a member of Penn State??s 4x400 meter relay team which finished 12th in a time of 3:37.53. Other members of the relay team were junior Briene Simmons (Decatur, Ga.) freshman Aleesha Barber (Decatur, Ga.) and sophomore Dominique Blake (Bronx, N.Y.).
