UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; February 14, 2007 ?? The Lady Lions (12-13, 5-7 Big Ten) return to the Bryce Jordan Center Thursday night when they host Minnesota (14-12, 6-7) at 7 p.m. Penn State is out to avenge a 75-62 loss to the Golden Gophers in Minneapolis on Jan. 21. Fans in attendance will receive Rally Towels while supplies last.

The game will be broadcast on WPSU live and on a tape-delayed basis on CSTV with Kellie Goodman, Margo Plotzke and former Lady Lion standout Suzie McConnell Serio calling the action. The game can also be heard on the Penn State Sports Radio Network with Jerry Fisher (play-by-play) and Chris Morelli (analyst) describing play. The Lady Lions are 19-5 all-time against the Golden Gophers, including an 18-5 mark in Big Ten games. Penn State is a perfect 11-0 all-time against Minnesota at home.
Freshman guard Tyra Grant (Youngstown, Ohio) and junior guard Kam Gissendanner (Clairton, Pa.) each reached the 20-point plateau in the first meeting of the season against Minnesota. Grant had a team-high 22 points on 8-of-13 shooting and three steals. Gissendanner continued her solid play against Big Ten foes with 20 points and three assists.
Grant has reached the 20-point plateau in each of her last three games, a feat that Penn State??s most prolific scorer Kelly Mazzante did not accomplish as a freshman. Grant has six 20-point performances on the season and is second on the team in scoring at a 13.8 per game rate. Senior post player Amanda Brown (Kennett Square, Pa.) is now averaging a double-double on the season with 14.0 points and a Big Ten-best 10.1 rebounds per game. She also leads the league in double-doubles in conference play (7) and is third in overall field goal percentage (.592). Gissendanner is third on the team in scoring (12.7) and leads the squad in free throw percentage (.845).
The Golden Gophers are sixth in the Big Ten with a 6-7 conference record and a 14-12 mark overall. Senior Kelly Roysland returned to the lineup Sunday after missing four games with a broken collarbone. She is the squad??s leading scorer at a 14.5 per game clip. Emily Fox (12.7) and Ashley Ellis-Milan (10.1) are also averaging doubles figures for Minnesota.
The Lady Lions return to the friendly confines of the Bryce Jordan Center to face Minnesota on Thursday, Feb. 15 at 7 p.m., before closing out the road portion of their slate at Iowa (Feb. 18) and nationally-ranked Ohio State (Feb. 22).
