UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; August 19, 2007 - The Penn State Football overnight recreational vehicle parking lot has been moved to parking lot 20 for the 2007 season.
The overnight RV lot opens on Thursdays at 6:00 p.m. on home football weekends and closes at 4:00 a.m. Saturday. The parking fee for the overnight RV lot is $60 for Thursday night and $60 for Friday.
Access to the road is from Orchard Road, off Park Avenue. The Thursday staging area is across Park Avenue from Hospital Drive on the road referred to as "Paterno Pike." The previous RV lot entrance at the Ag Arena will not be open.
"The new overnight RV lot will allow us to maintain much better traffic flow Friday nights from the stadium to the hospital," said Associate Athletic Director Mark Bodenschatz. "Orchard Road allows us to get RVs off Park Avenue and stage them before entering the RV parking lot. Having one dedicated area to overnight RV parking allows us to manage the lot better and allows the staff to assist our RV patrons in an efficient manner. A car parking area inside the entrance to the new lot will eliminate the need for cars to drive into the lot and will enhance safety of the lot."
The new lot will open Thursday, Aug. 30, at 6:00 p.m. in advance of the No. 17 Nittany Lions' season opener vs. Florida International on Sept. 1 at 12:00 p.m..
