University Park, Pa. - The Penn State Field Hockey program will host its own Think Pink Day next Sunday, October 14 for its Big Ten home game against Michigan State at noon. Similar to last year's Think Pink Day sponsored by the Lady Lion Basketball program and this year's that will be held on February 10, 2008, field hockey Think Pink Day will also serve to further promote breast cancer awareness as well as raise money for cancer research.
Fans attending next Sunday's game will have an opportunity to donate to any number of various breast cancer research organizations. All fans planning to attend the important Big Ten game with the Spartans are asked to wear pink. To help this cause, the first 200 fans to enter AstroTurf Field on Sunday will be given a free pink Penn State field hockey t-shirt.
Next Sunday's game will also be Senior Day for the Nittany Lions, who will honor their six seniors on their final Sunday home game of the year.
