Jessica Kim-Danh Places First in Women's Division of Saber at Temple Open

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Sophomore Jessica Ki Danh (Land-O'-Lakes,Fla.) placed first in the women's saber division at the Temple Open on Saturday. Danh topped a list of 75 fencers in the division.

Penn State found most of their success in the saber division. Sophomore Stephanie Herbert (Wyckoff, N.J.) also finished tenth in the saber division. Freshman Lee Valigorsky (DuBois, Pa.) finished 12th in the saber division as well.

The Penn State women's fencing team also faired well in the epee division. Grace Wu of Temple took first place in the division. Penn State sophomore Maria Reis (Sao Paulo, Brazil.) finished second in the epee division and freshman Caitlin Vassoler (Wayne, N.J.) finished 15th.

North Carolina's Katie Williamson took first place in the Women's foil division. The notable finisher from Penn State was Sophomore Sophia Siu (New York City, N.Y.)

Penn State men's fencing will compete today at Temple University in foil, epee and saber competition.

The Penn State men's and women's teams will head to Dallas, Texas next week for the NAC Junior/Cadet/Youth event.
