UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - The Penn State men's tennis team will be back in action at the 29th Big Ten Indoor Singles Championship at the University of Michigan this weekend. Action will run from Nov. 9-12 in Ann Arbor.

Head coach Todd Doebler will lead eight members of the Nittany Lion tennis team to Michigan for the final tournament of the fall.

"After spending most of the fall playing regional opponents, we are excited to travel to the Big Ten singles tournament because it will be a great opportunity to see how we stack up against players from our conference," said Doebler.

Action in the 32-player qualifying draw will begin on Friday (Nov. 9, 9 a.m.), with the first and second rounds on tap. The remaining eight players qualify for the main draw. There will also be a consolation match.

In the 64-player main draw, the first and second rounds are slated to begin Saturday (Nov. 10, 8 a.m.). The third round and quarterfinals will be held on Sunday (Nov. 11, 11:30 a.m.), with the semifinals and championship match scheduled on Monday (Nov. 12, 9 a.m.). A consolation bracket will be held for first and second round losers.

Leading the Nittany Lions to Michigan this weekend will be senior James Dwyer (Peachtree City, Ga.), junior Brendan Lynch (North Potomac, Md.), sophomore Ryan Gormley (Las Vegas, Nev.) and freshman Eddie Bourchier (Hobart, Australia). They will take the court for the first time since the Wilson/ITA Northeast Regional Championships in October.

Also making the trip will be senior Chris Sherman (Edina, Minn.), sophomore Guillaume St-Maurice (Saint-Eustache, Quebec) and freshmen Jamie Cox (Acworth, Ga.) and Jake Toole (Sharon, Mass.). Sherman, St-Maurice and Cox last played at the ECAC Championships in September. Toole's most recent outing was at the UVA Fall Classic in September.
