STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) -- Brianne O'Rourke scored 23 points and set up Janessa Wolf's game-winning layup after a frantic full-court drive to help Penn State upset Duke (No. 10 ESPN/USA Today, No. 11 AP) 86-84 on Sunday in the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
The Lady Lions (6-2) called timeout after Duke's Karina Christmas missed a chance to give the Blue Devils a one-point lead with 8 seconds left after missing a foul shot.
After a timeout, O'Rourke took the inbounds pass and drove the length of the floor into the paint before finding an open Wolf under the basket for the easy game-winning bucket with 0.3 seconds.
Christmas missed a desperation jumper as time expired, sealing the first three-game losing streak in 12 years for Duke (5-3).
O'Rourke was 15-of-15 from the free-throw line, including some clutch foul shots down the stretch. Williams finished with 22 points and was 8-of-8 form the foul line.
The giddy Lady Lions skipped off the court with wide smiles after singing the alma mater. First-year coach Coquese Washington secured the biggest win of her young career.
The reeling Blue Devils nearly rebounded from a poor first half, when they had 11 turnovers. They trailed 41-30 at the half before Chante Black and Abby Waner led a second-half charge.
Waner finished with 23 points and shot 6-of-9 from 3-point range, while Black had 21 points and dominated the paint. Christmas added 10 points for Duke.
The ACC still won the inaugural Challenge tournament with the Big Ten, 8-3.
