UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Men's volleyball senior setter Luke Murray (East Petersburg, Pa.) has been named the Eastern Intercollegiate Volleyball Association (EIVA) Player of the Week, conference officials announced. This is the second career award for Murray and the third of the season for the Nittany Lions, as junior opposite Ryan Sweitzer (Lancaster, Pa.) was honored on Jan. 22 and junior middle hitter Max Holt (Cincinnati, Ohio) picked up the award on Jan. 15.

Behind Murray's efforts, No. 2 Penn State picked up two more wins and finished out January undefeated for the first time under head coach Mark Pavlik. Against Mount Olive, Murray dished out 27 assists in two games and had three players finish with double-digit kills while the team hit at a .435 percentage. At NJIT, four of Murray's players ended with double-digit kills as the Lions attacked at a .422 clip. Individually, Murray provided 42 assists and 10 digs for his second collegiate double-double. For the week, Murray led the team to an astounding .429 hitting percentage with three players averaging 3.00 kills per game or higher while individually averaging 13.80 assists per game and 3.00 digs per game.
