Q: You were recently named to the Tewaaraton Trophy watch list for the third straight year, voted a preseason Second Team All-American, and selected to the preseason All-ALC team, what do these individual honors mean to you?
A: These recognitions are obviously a great honor, although I try not to think about these types of things when I am playing. I think that it's easier and more fun to just go out there and have a great time playing lacrosse and not have to have that hovering over my head.
Q: What has been your experience like playing on the U.S. Lacrosse Team?
A: I am actually now a member of the U.S. Elite Team and just recently found out that I am on the touring team to Prague this summer. I have learned so much playing for the U.S. team and get to be surrounded by amazing lacrosse players, it is truly and honor.
Q: What drives you to be successful?
A: My family and my teammates. I have a very supportive family with parents who have been to all of my sporting events as I have grown up, I always have them in my mind when I play. Without them I wouldn't be where I am today. I also have the privilege of playing on a team where we are all best friends. Every day, whether it is practice or a game, I have the time of my life and play as best I can for the girls that are on my team.
Q: Injuries are part of the game and you suffered one that cut short your season last year, what was that experience like from the actual injury to your rehab to now?
A: It was not only physically painful but very emotionally difficult to go through that injury. I have never had a serious injury and never had to sit and watch from the sideline. Especially since it happened in the middle of the season I had to sit and watch from the sideline for the last seven games. It was extremely difficult for me especially since my time here is coming to an end.
Q: What do you love about playing lacrosse at Penn State?
A: Penn State is a place that becomes part of you. I can't even express how much I love this school. There is a certain inexplicable feeling that I get when I put on that Penn State jersey and get out on the field to represent Penn State. I am truly a very lucky girl!
Q: Tell one thing about yourself that would surprise most people.
A: Hmm...well, l I used to have a pet chicken! Although that was more my Mom's pet (sorry Mom).
