Penn State Women's Tennis Heads to the Midwest

University Park, Pa.; - After two back-to-back wins, the Penn State women's tennis team (4-5, 1-1) is heading to the Midwest to take on the Cowgirls of Oklahoma State and the Shockers of Wichita State. The Nittany Lions face the Cowgirls on March 11 and the Shockers on March 12.

The Nittany Lions, who earned their first ranking since 2005 on Feb. 20, recently posted shut-outs against West Virginia and Columbia. The team is currently on a three-game win streak, which began with their defeat of then No. 74 Wisconsin on Feb. 17.

The No. 69 Cowgirls (4-2) are coming off a tough 6-1 loss to then No. 40 UNLV. No. 54 Wichita State (3-3) most recently upset then No. 38 Tulsa, 4-3.

Both of this week's matches will begin at 2 p.m. Following their return home from their spring break trip, the Nittany Lions will face Temple and St. John's the weekend of March 21. Up first is Temple with the match beginning at 5 p.m. at the Penn State Indoor Tennis Center.
