Baseball Adds Game vs. Canisius Next Monday, March 24

March 19, 2008

University Park, Pa. - The Penn State baseball team has added a game to its schedule for next Monday, March 24 against Canisius College at 3:35 p.m. at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The Nittany Lions were only scheduled for 55 games to begin with this year, one fewer than the maximum 56 allowed by NCAA rules, and also had the game scheduled for last Friday against Penn on their spring break trip in the West Palm Beach, Fla. area cancelled due to rain, all of which allowed for a game to be added on Monday.

All Penn State baseball season ticket holders, including student season ticket holders, can receive a complimentary ticket to Monday's game by showing identification at the ticket booth at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park either on Monday prior to the game or at any one of this weekend's games vs. Lehigh. Regular game ticket prices apply to all others. Monday's game will also be broadcast on GoPSUsports.com.

The Golden Griffins of Canisius are currently 11-1 on the year entering a three-game series this weekend at LeMoyne. Members of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), they have already had four games this year cancelled due to weather.

The Nittany Lions will open their home schedule this weekend with a three-game series against Lehigh beginning on Friday at 3:35 p.m.
