Series History

PSU's first game of the tournament will be against a relatively new opponent in the form of the University of Toledo. The Nittany Lions and the Rockets have only met once before with the Nittany Lions having the 1-0 advantage after a 5-1 victory last season. The Spartans of Michigan State are next on the schedule and have a storied history with PSU. The Nittany Lions' hold a slim margin in the series history 20-18. The two teams did not meet last season due to weather but PSU has won the two previous meetings between the two programs.

Day two will pit the Nittany Lions against first-time opponent Youngstown State. The Penguins first competed in softball back in 1980 but have never crossed paths with the Nittany Lions. The final scheduled opponent is Miami (Ohio). The Redhawks have a 2-0 advantage over the Nittany Lions in their two previous meetings.
