Home Regular Season Ends
The men's basketball team closes out its regular season this week with two games versus Big Ten rivals. First the Nittany Lions travel to Madison, Wisc. to take on the 24-4 Badgers on Wednesday, March 5 at 9 p.m. They then return home to end the regular season against the Indiana Hoosiers on Sunday, March 9 at 2 p.m. in the Bryce Jordan Center. Tickets are still on sale on the ticket page.
At Home This Week
The women's lacrosse team and men's gymnastics team, in addition to men's basketball (mentioned above), are the only Penn State teams to compete at home this week. The women's lacrosse team looks for their second win of the season when they host the No.2 ranked Virginia Cavaliers on Friday, March 7 at 5 p.m. The Cavaliers enter the game with a 4-14 series record versus the Nittany Lions. Penn State last beat Virginia 10-7 in 2005, in Charlottesville. The Nittany Lions also host William & Mary on Sunday, March 9 at 1 p.m. The men's gymnastics team plays host to William & Mary and Navy on Saturday at 2 p.m. in Rec Hall.

Women's Basketball at Big Tens
The Lady Lions travel to Indianapolis, Ind. for the Big Ten Tournament held at Conseco Fieldhouse Thursday, March 6 through Sunday, March 9. Penn State enters the tournament as the No. 10 seed and will face No. 7 seed Michigan on Thursday night. The Lady Lions finished the regular season with a record of 13-16 under first year head coach Coquese Washington. View the Tournament Bracket here. Wrestling Goes to Big Tens
The No. 6 ranked men's wrestling team travels to Minneapolis, Minn. for the Big Ten Wrestling Championships March 8 and 9. The Nittany Lions finished fourth at the Big Ten Championships last season. Other Big Ten teams that are ranked include Iowa (1), Wisconsin (7), Minnesota (8), Ohio State (9), Illinois (10), Michigan (11), Northwestern (13), and Indiana (20). Auction of Paterno Autographed Items Upcoming
A 2008 Alamo Bowl Mini-Helmet and an authentic un-used Alamo Bowl game ball, both signed by Nittany Lion legend Joe Paterno, will be featured in GoPSUsports.com auctions beginning March 5. SAAB total for THON 2008
The Student Athlete Advisory Board raised $24,957.07 for Penn State's 2008 Dance Marathon. THON, a 46-hour no-sleeping, no-sitting event, raises money for the Four Diamonds Fund which, supports families with children who have pediatric cancer. This year THON raised an unprecedented $6,615,318.04. SAAB raised the 10th highest total for independent organizations. To see SAAB's involvement at THON, check out these photo galleries.
Last Week in Review at Big Tens
The women's track and field team finished third at Big Ten indoors this past weekend as senior Shana Cox captured two titles. Mark Miller and Clarence Smith each won conference titles as the men's track & field team placed fourth. The men's swimming and diving team placed eighth at Big Ten's with Pat Schirk finishing second in the 200 backstroke, breaking his previously set school record.
Gridiron Bash
Join Penn State students and fans for the Gridiron Bash Ultimate Fan Competition at University Park. The two-day carnival complete with rides begins outside of Beaver Stadium at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 18 with the annual Blue-White game on Saturday, April 19 at 2 p. m. Fans have the opportunity to earn $1 million in scholarship support for Penn State by competing against other participating schools to establish who has the most passionate and supportive fans. Winning schools will be determined by adding up the total paid attendance at the Gridiron Bash event combined with the number of fans that vote for their school. Get more information here.
