Nittany Lions Close Regular Season Sunday in Jordan Center vs. No. 17 Indiana

March 5, 2008

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., March 5, 2008 -- Penn State will put its four-game Big Ten home winning streak, its longest since 1996, to the test Sunday in the Jordan Center when the Nittany Lions take on No. 17 ranked Indiana at 2:00 p.m.

The game will be televised on ESPN and with Penn State students on spring break, great seats are available. The clash with the Hoosiers is a 4 for $40 game, with families able to buy four tickets, four drinks and four hot dogs for just $40.

The contest also is "Fan Appreciation Day" at the Jordan Center with prizes, coupons and other awards given to fans throughout the game.

The game will be a battle of two of the Big Ten's most sensational freshmen when Nittany Lion Talor Battle squares off with Hoosier Eric Gordon. Battle is coming of an amazing 28-point, 13-rebound outing in leading Penn State to a win over Michigan Saturday in the BJC. Gordon leads the Big Ten scoring 21.4 ppg. The pair combined to score 45 points in their last head-to-head meeting in Bloomington earlier this year.

Indiana is third in the conference (13-3) and owns a 24-5 overall record. Penn State (14-14), currently seventh in the standings, will be looking to earn its best Big Ten finish since 2001 and has won four of its last eight games overall.

Three Nittany Lion seniors -- Mike Walker, Brandon Hassell and Geary Claxton -- will be making their last appearance at the Jordan Center, where Penn State knocked off the Hoosiers in 2006.

All Penn State basketball games can be heard on the Penn State Sports Network and www.GoPSUsports.com.
