UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Register Now at the Sports Camps Website
Looking for an exciting way to spend a week this summer with friends and learn from the best in the game? Sign up now to join the Penn State women's soccer coaching staff and team as you enhance your skills and learn from the best during one of the team's summer camps.
The Penn State women's soccer program is offering four camp sessions this summer including the five-day Day Camp in June for those in kindergarten through 8th grade and a five-day Instructional Camp in July for 7th through 12th graders. Penn State is also holding two, four-day team sessions beginning in July and ending in August for high school varsity level and club teams. Campers will be given an experience they won't soon forget as they take their skills to the next level while learning from Penn State's current team and staff. The Penn State Women's Soccer coaching staff will be leading the camps as several members from the team join in on drills and instruction to increase skill level and fun.
This summer's camps will be under the expert instruction of Penn State women's soccer head coach Erica Walsh. With over a decade of coaching experience at Harvard, Florida State, and Bucknell, Walsh added Penn State to her resume last spring. This past season was her first with the Nittany Lions continued the program's storied success as the Penn State won its 10th straight Big Ten championship. Walsh is also currently an assistant coach of the U.S. Women's National Soccer team.
Joining Walsh at this year's camp will be assistant coaches Michael Coll (fourth year at Penn State), Ann Cook (second year at Penn State), goalkeeping coach Mariel Wilner (second year at Penn State) and several of the Nittany Lions' stars.
Penn State Camps are focused around the improvement of skill, technique and team work. With a week jam-packed of fun activity taught by unforgettable faces, neither the campers nor instructors will want the week to end.
The Day Camp will kick off the soccer-filled summer the week of June 23-27. The cost of the day camp will be $130 per player. The Instructional Camp will be held from July 20-24 with cost for the overnight campers $445 and $380 for those who do not wish to use Penn State housing. The first of the Team Camps will be held from July 25-28 with the second one running July 29-August 1. Cost for the team camp will be $415 per overnight players and $360 for those players who do not wish to use Penn State housing. All teams attending either team session must have a minimum of 16 players and a maximum of 22. All fees include instruction, food and/or housing, soccer ball, and camp shirt.
Spots for all four sessions are still available, but campers are encouraged to register as soon as possible as these camps are very popular and space is filling up quickly. For coaches registering for the team sessions, along with the application you must mail in team roster, and roommate preference as one package.
The Penn State Women's Soccer team is looking forward to sharing their love of soccer this summer in hopes to produce future Nittany Lion soccer players.
