Ann Arbor, Mich. - The Penn State baseball team will make its second straight appearance in the Big Ten Tournament beginning on Wednesday vs. Indiana. The Nittany Lions are the No. 3 seed for the second straight year after finishing in third place in the Big Ten. Wednesday's game will begin at 3:35 p.m.
If victorious on Wednesday, the Nittany Lions would advance to face Purdue on Thursday again at 3:35 p.m. If not victorious, they would face the loser of the Illinois-Ohio State game on Thursday at noon.
Penn State holds an all-time record of 12-14 in the Big Ten Tournament and 3-2 in the tournament under head coach Robbie Wine. This will be Penn State's eighth appearance at the Big Ten Tournament and only the third time that the Nittany Lions have qualified for back-to-back Big Ten Tournaments. The previous years that happened were 2000-01 and 2003-04.
The Nittany Lions have met Indiana twice before in the Big Ten Tournament and hold a 1-1 record. Overall, Penn State leads the series with Indiana 33-24. If Penn State advances to face Purdue, it would mark the first-ever meeting with the Boilermakers in the Big Ten Tournament.
