ANN ARBOR, Mich. - The Big Ten Network will air live coverage of the Big Ten Baseball Tournament from the Wilpon Baseball Complex, home of Ray Fisher Stadium at the University of Michigan. Coverage begins today at noon with a triple-header featuring the Nittany Lions at 3:35 p.m.
Coming off a 15-6 loss to Purdue, Penn State is now in the consolation bracket facing the winner of the Indiana-Illinois game scheduled to get underway today at 12:05 p.m. Yesterday's game marked the first-ever match-up between Penn State and Purdue in the Big Ten Tournament
The Big Ten Network will televise the final five games of the tournament and a sixth, if necessary. Mark Neely and Matt Devlin will share play-by-play duties. Jerry Kindall and Danan Hughes will serve as analysts. Shireen Saski will report from the field.
Action resumes at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. The championship game is slated for 7 p.m. ET on Saturday. The network will also televise the Sunday re-match, if necessary, at noon ET.
Michigan captured its third straight regular season Big Ten title by finishing atop the regular season standings, earning the Wolverines the right to host the 2008 event. In the six years under this tournament format, the top-seeded team has only won the Big Ten Tournament Championship twice (Minnesota, 2004; Michigan, 2006).
