Julia Trogele Competes at 2008 U20 European Championships

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - Lady Lion sophomore guard/forward Julia Trogele (Devon, Pa.) recently completed her stint as a member of the U20 German National team participating in the 2008 European U20 Women's Championships in Italy. The Germans posted a 2-3 record in the tournament.

Trogele, who did not play in the team's first game of the tournament, averaged 13.0 points, 9.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists in four starts. She also accounted for a .413 shooting percentage and a .737 mark from the free throw line, including two perfect performances.

Trogele's best effort came in Germany's exciting 66-62 victory over Belgium on July 15 when she registered a double-double with 20 points and 12 rebounds. Two days later, Trogele notched her second double-double of the tournament with 13 points and 15 rebounds, including 10 defensive caroms, in Germany's final game, a 74-68 win over Bulgaria. She also dished out three assists in the win.

In Germany's 84-59 loss to France in the preliminary rounds on July 12, Trogele accounted for six points and three rebounds in 11 minutes. On July 13, she was 5-for-11 from the field en route to 13 points to go along with six rebounds, a steal and a blocked shot in Germany's 67-55 loss to the host Italians.
