UNIVERSITY PARK, PA. - The inaugural season of the Washington's Whoopsters kids club was highly successful and with the start of the women's basketball season around the corner, the Penn State Lady Lions have started accepting Whoopsters applications for the 2008-09 season. The club, which had approximately 200 members last season, is open to children in grades 1-8.
For just $30, the club membership includes admission to all regular-season home games with exclusive "Whoopsters Only" seating in the endzone nearest to the Lady Lion bench. Members also receive an official Whoopsters kids club t-shirt, a chance to be the "Star of the Game" or "Kid on the Bench" during the season, a preseason pizza party with the Lady Lions, a basketball clinic with the team, monthly newsletters, gameday giveaways to the first 200 kids and an official Whoopsters WBCA Pink Zone Day t-shirt.

The Lady Lions being the 2008-09 campaign with an exhibition game against California (Pa.) on Sun., Nov. 9, before opening the 2008-09 regular-season campaign with a three-game homestand against South Carolina (Sun., Nov. 16), Stony Brook (Wed., Nov. 19) and Prairie View A&M (Fri., Nov. 21). Penn State will also participate in the Third Annual Maggie Dixon Classic at Madison Square Garden on Sun., Dec. 14 at 2 p.m. where it will face perennial national contender Connecticut, a game that will be televised on ESPNU.
