UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - After securing a share of their 11th consecutive conference championship, the Penn State women's soccer team has earned the No. 1 seed in the Big Ten Tournament to begin Thursday, Nov. 6.
Penn State enters the tournament with a conference record of 8-2-0 to garner 24 total points in the Big Ten regular season. Squaring off against the Nittany Lions will be No. 8 seed and host Iowa. The Hawkeyes bring a 9-10-1 overall record to the tournament. In the regular season the Nittany Lions defeated the Hawkeyes 1-0 in overtime. Penn State and Iowa will meet at 5 p.m. ET on Thursday.
All games will have live stats (Gametracker) with the box score and play-by-play to be posted immediately following each game. A game recap and postgame quotes will also be posted after each contest.
The Big Ten Network will televise the 2008 Big Ten Women's Soccer Tournament, providing television coverage for the second consecutive season. The semifinals will be played Friday, Nov. 7, at 1 and 3:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live by the network. The championship contest will kick off on Sunday, Nov. 9, at 2 p.m. CT with the Big Ten Network providing live coverage.
