Penn State Earns NCAA Tournament Bid

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - One day after winning its fifth Big Ten Tournament championshp, the Penn State women's soccer team received a bid to compete in the Stanford region of the NCAA Tournament. Rounds one and two will be held at Rutgers Friday, Nov. 14 and Sunday, Nov. 16. Penn State will begin its quest for the College Cup this Friday in Piscataway, N.J. against Rutgers.

Joining the Nittany Lions and Scarlet Knights for rounds one and two will be Fairfield and No. 4 seed Oklahoma State.

Other Big Ten teams earning bids are Michigan State and Minnesota in the Notre Dame region and Illinois in the North Carolina region.

This will mark Penn State's 14th appearance in the NCAA Tournament in the program's 15 year history. This season, the Nittany Lions have captured their 11th consecutive regular season conference championship and their fifth Big Ten Tournament crown.
