CHILLAN, Chile - All-American goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher (Waterford, Conn.) scooped up seven saves as the U.S. Under-20 Women's National Team opened the 2008 FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup with a 3-0 victory over France. With the win, the U.S. sits alone atop Group B with three points.
The top two teams in each group will advance to the quarterfinals. Should the U.S. advance out of Group B, they will face an opponent from Group A, which consists of Chile, England, New Zealand and Nigeria.
Next up for the U.S. will be Argentina, on Saturday, Nov. 22 at 10 a.m. ET, live on espn360.com. Earlier today, Argentina played China to a 0-0 draw.
