Nittany Lion Golfer to Play in the Prestigious Western Refining All-American Classic

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA: - As a result of being a 2007-08 All-American, Kevin Foley (Sommerville, N.J.) was invited to compete in one of the top amateur events in North America. The Western Refining All-American Classic will be played in El Paso, Texas. The tournament is run by the Sun Bowl Association and is sponsored by Western Refining.

Foley will depart State College Saturday, to arrive a day early for practice. The tournament is scheduled for November 23-25 at the El Paso Country Club, at a par-71, stretching 6,837 yards. The 27-team field includes all 2007-08 All-Americans that are still in collegiate competition.

Foley earned honorable mention All-American honors as a sophomore and is a two-time All-Mid-Atlantic Region selection. Foley was named All-Big Ten in 2007 and is ranked 144th in the Golfweek World Amateur Golf Rankings. In the 2008 fall golf season, Foley finished three of the five tournaments in a top 10 position, winning medalist at the Lehigh Invitational.
