UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa., - Penn State football coach Joe Paterno was released early from the Mount Nittany Medical Center and returned home today He no longer experiences hip-related pain and will continue his rehabilitation at home following hip replacement surgery on Sunday.
Coach Paterno has been working on bowl preparation schedules while in the hospital and intends to begin evaluation of last Saturday's 49-18 win over Michigan State at home. Paterno is expected to resume a coaching regimen on Monday, Dec. 1, when the players return to school following the Thanksgiving break.
