UNIVERSITY PARK, PA., Dec. 12, 2008 - The Nittany Lion basketball team will continue its six-game home stand to close out the month of December on Saturday when it takes on Mount St. Mary's in a 1:30 p.m. clash at the Bryce Jordan Center. Fans please note the game time was changed from its original 4:00 p.m. on the schedule to accommodate the NCAA Regional Volleyball Championship game being held at Rec Hall on Saturday.
Saturday's game can be heard live on the Penn State Sports Network and a live webstream can be viewed at BigTenNetwork.com.
Fans attending the game can enter to be chosen to compete in a halftime contest to win a pair of Rose Bowl tickets. It is also "D.A.R.E. Day" at the Jordan Center with youth receiving a free ticket when accompanying an adult with a paid adult ticket.
Penn State enters Saturday's game with an 8-2 record after downing Army, 60-45, on Wednesday. With a win the Nittany Lions can equal their most number of wins ever entering Big Ten play with two non-conference games remaining. The Nittany Lions have been led by the sensational play of sophomore point guard Talor Battle who is second in the Big Ten averaging 18.7 points per game and on pace to post on of the top single-season assist totals in Penn State history.
Mount St. Mary's has lost its last three games entering Saturday's contest and will bring a 3-5 record into the Jordan Center. They are led by 5-9, guard Jeremy Goode who averages 18.4 points and three assists per game. The Mount lost a close game at Virginia Tech, 62-57, earlier this season.
