UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Penn State women's golf coach Denise St. Pierre was recently awarded the Gladys Palmer Meritorious Service Award, the National Golf Coaches Association (NGCA) most prestigious honor. The award was presented to St. Pierre at the NGCA Hall of Fame Banquet on Wednesday, December 10, 2008, at the Harrah's Las Vegas Resort & Casino in Las Vegas, Nevada.
The award is given in recognition of individuals who have contributed to the evolution and growth of women's collegiate golf. Recipients have influenced and changed the face of women's golf.
