UNIVERSITY PARK, PA., Dec. 18, 2008 - The Nittany Lion basketball team will look to add to its already record tying win total prior to Big Ten play on Sunday when it takes on Lafayette at 4:00 p.m. Sunday in the Bryce Jordan Center. The game will be televised live on ESPNU and can be heard live on the Penn State Sports Network.
It will be Penn State Faculty/Staff Day at the Jordan Center with University faculty and staff receiving $5 tickets at the door with a valid University ID.
Penn State enters Sunday's game with a 9-2 record after downing Mount St. Mary's, 61-56, last Saturday. The Nittany Lions have equaled their most number of wins ever entering Big Ten play with two non-conference games remaining. Penn State has been led by the sensational play of sophomore point guard Talor Battle who is second in the Big Ten averaging 19.4 points per game and is coming off a season-high 26 points vs. Mount St. Mary's.
Lafayette enters Sunday's game with a 2-7 record. The Leopards are led by a pair of guards (Jeff Kari and Andrew Brown) who average better than 15 points per game and have combined for 47 three-pointers on the year.
