Penn State Football Story Rose Bowl Special Affiliates
UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.- Nittany Lion football fans can begin gearing up for the 2009 Rose Bowl Presented by Citi with the Penn State Football Story Rose Bowl Preview Special presented by the Pennsylvania Propane Foundation and your local Propane Service Provider, which debuts on Tuesday, Dec. 23 throughout the Mid-Atlantic region and nationally on the Big Ten Network.
Produced by the creators of The Penn State Football Story, the 60-minute program will preview No. 6 Penn State's Rose Bowl clash with No. 5/4 USC and include features, highlights and comments from the Nittany Lions. Senior wide receiver Deon Butler (Woodbridge, Va.) and junior quarterback Daryll Clark (Youngstown) are the co-hosts. They interviewed several teammates for the program, which also will include an analysis of the Trojans and the match-ups by Steve Jones and the Nittany Lions' plays of the year.
The Rose Bowl presented by Citi is Thursday, January 1 at 2:10 p.m. PT/5:10 p.m. ET at the Rose Bowl Stadium in Pasadena, Calif. The match-up of Big Ten and Pac-10 champions will air on ESPN on ABC, ESPN Radio and the Penn State Sports Network.
The Penn State Football Story Rose Bowl Preview Special will debut on Tuesday on MASN in Baltimore-Washington, D.C., (12:30 p.m.) and YES Network (1:00 p.m.) in metropolitan New York City. On Wednesday, Dec. 24 at 6:30 p.m., the program will make the first of its six appearances on FSN-Pittsburgh.
Also on Wednesday at 6:00 p.m., the Penn State Football Story Rose Bowl Special will make the first of four appearances on the Big Ten Network, which is available on more than 230 cable and satellite providers in approximately 70 million homes nationwide. On Christmas Day, Comast SportsNet Philadelphia will debut the program 8:00 p.m., the first of four airings on CSN-Philadelphia.

All five sports cable networks will have multiple airings of the Penn State Football Story Rose Bowl Preview Special presented by the? Pennsylvania Propane Foundation and your local Propane Service Provider.
The program also will appear on six Pennsylvania stations. On Sunday, Dec, 28, the show will air on WHP-DT (11:30 a.m.) in the Harrisburg-Lancaster-York market, WNEP (5:00 p.m.) in the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre market and WPSU (11:00 p.m.) in the central part of the state, including State College-Altoona-Johnstown market.
On Monday, Dec. 29, the Penn State Football Story Rose Bowl Preview Special will air on WTAJ-TV (7:00 p.m.) in the State College-Altoona-Johnstown market and WFXP-TV (7:00 p.m.) in Erie. On Wednesday, Dec. 31, WFMZ-TV (8:00 p.m.) will air the program in Allentown-Bethlehem-Easton market.

Penn State (11-1) and USC (11-1) will be meeting for the ninth time, with each team having one four contests. The traditional powers will be playing in a bowl game for he third time, with the Trojans winning the 1923 Rose Bowl (14-3) and the Nittany Lions capturing the 1982 Fiesta Bowl (26-10). Penn State also played in the 1995 Rose Bowl, defeating Oregon, 38-20, to cap a 12-0 season.
The Nittany Lions will be playing in their 35th bowl game under Coach Joe Paterno, who is the all-time leader in bowl appearances and wins (23-10-1 record).
Coach Joe Paterno's Nittany Lions gathered in southern California over the weekend and resumed practice on Sunday. The squad will practice through Wednesday and have Christmas Day off, returning to practice on Friday.
