UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - With day one of the Big Ten Championships in the books, the Nittany Lion track and field team is in good standing going into the final day of competition at Horace Ashenfelter III Indoor Track. Day one highlights included scoring performances from senior Clarence Smith (Coatesville, Pa.) in the long jump and freshman Vince McNally (Smoketown, Pa.) in the 3,000-meters. Also provided a scoring performance was the men's distance medley, where the Nittany Lions recorded a fifth-place finish.
