STATE COLLEGE, Pa. - STATE COLLEGE, Pa.; June 4, 2009 - Cael Sanderson's hiring has had a dramatic impact on enrollment for Penn State's 2009 Summer Wrestling Camps as numbers for both individual and team camps have nearly doubled in most cases. While the enrollment figures continue to climb, there are still slots available during the late enrollment period.
A total of ten camps, including youth and team types, will begin on June 20 and wind down in mid-July. The Youth Camp runs June 20-21, followed by Technique Camp I, Takedown Camp I and Top/Pinning Camp I on June 21-24. The Intensive Training Camp will run from June 21-27 as well.
Technique Camp II Takedown Camp II and Top/Pinning Camp II will take place on June 24-27 followed by a short break for the staff to regroup and prepare for the always popular team camps. Team Camp I will run from July 8-11 while Team Camp II takes place July 12-15.
Since Sanderson's hiring in mid-April, Penn State's wrestling camps have experienced a drastic increase in enrollment, with numbers more than doubling in some cases. Despite this, new openings are being made available as the demand through increased enrollment continues to grow. Late enrollment is still possible for interested individuals and teams.
