UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Three alums of the Penn State women's soccer program took to the pitch this past week in Women's Professional Soccer action. Christie Welsh started two matches, while Ali Krieger and Erin McLeod saw time in one.
Welsh's two starts came in a 2-1 win over Sky Blue FC and a 2-1 loss to Los Angeles. In the game against the L.A. Sol, Welsh recorded seven shots.
McLeod, the reigning WPS Player of the Week, made three saves in a 1-0 loss at Boston. Krieger received the starting nod in the defense for the Washington Freedom.
