UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. - Four Nittany Lion products made appearances this past week in Women's Pro Soccer (WPS) action. Teammates Ali Krieger and Erin McLeod help lead the Washington Freedom to a 1-0-1 week.
A mid-week game prior to an international friendly between the U.S. and Canada saw the Washington Freedom fight to a 4-4 tie with Sky Blue FC in New Jersey. Krieger and McLeod started the match with Krieger amassing three shots out of the midfield, while McLeod made one save.
On Saturday, with McLeod called up to the Canadian National Team to play the U.S., Krieger helped lead the Freedom to a 1-0 win over Saint Louis Athletica. Joanna Lohmann made a reserve appearance for the Freedom.
