UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa.; August 18, 2009 - Former Penn State player and assistant coach Fran Ganter will provide his insight of the 2009 Nittany Lion Football team and season at a Penn State Preview in metropolitan Philadelphia on Wednesday, Sept 2.
Joining Ganter as a special guest will be former Nittany Lion cornerback Adam Taliaferro. A 2005 Penn State graduate, Taliaferro is an attorney in a Philadelphia law firm. A standout player at Eastern High School in Vorhees, N.J., Taliaferro has overcome a severe neck injury suffered in a 2000 game at Ohio State to earn his undergraduate and law degrees.
The Sept. 2 event will be hosted by the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Nittany Lion Club and will be held at the Radisson Hotel in Trevose A cash bar will open at 6:30 p.m. with the dinner to follow at 7:30 p.m.
Ganter is in his 43rd consecutive year as a member of the Penn State football family. He is in his sixth year as Associate Athletic Director for Football Administration after serving as a Nittany Lion assistant coach from 1971-2003. As a running back from 1967-70, he helped Penn State to a 29-3 record, including a pair of 11-0 records.
Admission for the event is $42 per person and dress is casual.
Reservations for the event and reserved table assignments will be on a first come, first serve basis. Reservations, which can be made by calling Steve Kipp at 215-295-4242, must be made no later than Thursday, Aug. 27.
